6-8 Arrival Time and Breakfast, videos and learning activities

8-9 Playtime Children get to pick from an enormous assortment of toys in the preschool room.

9-10 PRESCHOOL session 1  This is when we do our daily calendar and weather.  We also do our theme activities.  Each week we will have fun and exciting themes your child will love. They enjoy the different toys, stations and items I build around each theme. Fridays is Show & Tell. We try to tie it in with the theme when we are able to.

10am snack - we often use this for cooking or learning but either way we have a healthy snack.

10:15-11 PRESCHOOL session 2   This hour we work at ABC's, 123's, Shapes, and Colors, We work at preparing the 4 year olds for Kindergarten and repetitive but fun ways of learning each and every one of the regular preschool academics.  You will be surprised how much a 2yr old can pick up from a 4 year old. Younger children enjoy singing with us or they play beside us during this time.   We also read lots of stories.

11-12 Outdoor/Large Motor Movement Time.    I love the Outdoors and so do KIDS, so it is likely that we will be using the outdoors as our classroom for some of our themes but in the bad weather the sunroom makes an excellent place for kids to get their much needed Vitamin D. The sunlight effect is just enough with out the bitter winds.  Always make sure your child has warm mittens, hat and coat.  Children will often  go outside even though it may be somewhat cold, a few minutes helps.  So please, when it is very chilly bundle them up up!

12NOON  LUNCH TIME  Lunch is always Nutritious and I try to make it delicious for kids.  It is hard to please everyone, but I use the Child net resource centers guidelines for healthy eating in combination with what the group loves to eat.  Pizza is every Friday!!! .

12:45pm Brush Our Teeth As part of our healthy habits and my ongoing commitment to health you need to bring a toothbrush and tooth paste for your child to use after lunch.

1pm This is our movie time.  Children get to take turns picking from over 100 videos and Dvds.  They are all child friendly and appropriate for them at this tender age. I find this eases the transition to nap time so much better for most children.  Many times they will nod off to sleep about 3/4 of the way through the movie.

2-4ish pm.   Children will nap  and at 3:45  Each child will a couple of books to look at quietly until everyone is awake.  Many times I have to wake them up, but if they wake up early, this is a great way to get kids involved with books!

4pm Color and Learning material This is our chance to do some coloring and or worksheets. These activities will be varied from week to week. At this time we have a chance to do some of the individual learning centers.

4:30 pm Pick-up. This is the time of day children are leaving.  Parents pick them up at their scheduled time.  The remaining children will able to have free time, children's choice.

6pm Closing for the day. Whether it is 6pm pick-up or 4:30pm, if you find yourself unable to get to your child at the regularly scheduled time, please call me as soon as you know.
